we give soffie and griffyn sentinel for heartworm.  it is supposed to help with fleas and other parasites too by inhibiting the reproductive cycle.  we use comfortis for the fleas.  i've heard some bad stuff about revolution.  can't recall the details but i know it was enough to keep me from giving it a try.

There aren't any yet that do all three (vet said they are working on it, but they end up being such strong medication that dogs aren't tolerating them).

When I worked at the vet office, comfortis was the best thing to use for fleas.  The vet really liked it and he is a guy I completely trust with my animals.  Everybody that used it loved it.  I think only one person could not use it because her dog would throw up, but you do have to feed your dog a large meal before giving it or that is a possibility.

Do some research on Comfortis, it's still kinda new and I read some things about it that gave me pause.

Problem with the pills is none of them do squat for ticks as far as I can tell.

Since ticks are the primary reason we use a preventative, the pills aren't something we'll be switching to any time soon.

Sounds great!  I know that comfortis is a really good product, so I'm sure this one works well

Trifexis is a new product and it does kill fleas and quite marvelously I might add! Trifexis is a combination of Interceptor and Comfortis all in one pill.I think everyone is thinking of Sentinel which does not kill fleas, it has a flea inhibitor in it so the eggs don't hatch which helps prevent infestations in the home. Ask your regular vet about it they should be stocking it soon.

There was one that my dogs were on at one time but there were some problems with it and it got pulled from the market. I forgot what it was called because it was a long time ago. Since then because Sparty is very allergic to fleas (along with most other things) we have to use the topical. The pills do not kill the fleas, it just kills the eggs. Sparty really can not have a flea on him.

I have not heard of that one, is it newer?  I have always used advantage multi, but we do not have a big tick problem

The pill is called Trifexis, it does fleas, heartworms, and some intestinal parasites. It lasts for 30 days, I have all my dogs on it, best flea control out there by far.
