Is it his front or back leg? When Sid's hip dislocated, he was also shaking and scared, his ears were back and his pupils dilated. Definitely take him to the vet tomorrow, and try to keep him calm tonight. Good luck, I hope it's just a sprain.

That was how my dog reacted when she tore a ligament in her knee. I really hope it isn't the same for your dog. Get him in for xrays and good luck to you both. If he needs surgery, go for the plastic replacement, the metal plate is too large for a small dog. I know just how you're feeling. :(

Ok he is walking on it a little bit tenderly, not yelping anymore and he doesn't look happy. He doesn't want me touching it so I think the regular vet tomorrow will be fine. Man he scared me, he instantly stopped and tried to hobble back.

If he's putting weight on the leg now, even with a bit of a limp, but not in pain, perhaps take him to your vet tomorrow if it's not resolved itself in the morning.  He may just have twisted it playing around and it will resolve itself.  Depending on finances, emergency vets can be extremely costly.  BUT.....That being said, if he's not putting weight on it and still yelping in pain, I would take him to the emergency vet.

If he is obviously in pain I would take him to the emergency vet. Even if you don't get a full diagnosis from them, they could at least give him some pain meds to last until you can see your regular vet tomorrow.
