So things have been a bit...problematic here. So as my own form of therapy, I essentially wrote it down as a mini storybook style.
So what happened is that my hubby The one pictured on the left, got a job out in Baltimore, Maryland. So we packed up and moved from Woodbury, MN out here. He worked there for a brief while, and then discovered there were misunderstandings on both sides. So the job fell through and like a pair of gypsies we're moving again, this time back to WI.
When we moved out to Maryland, we had someone else move our stuff. It was expensive, but we thought it was worth it. Now that we've only been able to spend 1 mos out here before having to pay out the nose to move back. So this time we're moving everything back ourselves to save some money. Thankfully my dad will drive the rental truck back (there's just no way I could drive that back through mountains.)
This is what I expect to be our drive through the mountains. Dad cool as a cucumber, me being nervous but ok, hubby being freaked out in his Jeep.
So yeah, that's the light of things.

@Tori I'm glad you like my drawings. I am contemplating doing children's books. I just have to get an idea down and go from there. Also, I just finished moving in the last of my furniture about 10 minutes ago. I will admit, I feel a bit nutty. Aprox. 15 hours is far more than I've ever driven before. All I can really say to that is thank goodness for audio books! :)
@Peggy Woods Thank you for thinking my drawings are cute. :) For about a year I had been trying to run UnlimitedGlassWorks.etsy.com, but the chaos in my life has been making it a bit unsuccessful. Thankfully people had been contacting me outside of there. I've recently been told about a website that is supposed to not charge listing fees, so I might also set up shop there. I have to check it out and will when I finally at least set up my work room. It's kinda funny; I had just set up my work room at the last place right before hubby told me we had to start packing again. I might have to list myself on craigslist. I used to list my services at the mailbox of my prior place, but the new one is no pets allowed. I don't think I have as strong of a market there. Thank you for the suggestion. :) The mountains are not the Red Mountain Pass, but I'm sure I've been on a few similar.
@Geri and Sidney Hrm, maybe it's a newlywed thing. I have been married for about a year and a half. I hope it ends soon. Also, here's hoping I coming up with an idea worthy of publishing. :D
@Julia It should be welcome back to Wisconsin. :) Born and raised here, been a member of Cheesehead Corgis since I joined, and I drew its mascot. :D Still love the suggestion though. Don't know if I can really go to the picnic this summer. Right now I only have access to a Bichon Frise. Don't really think that counts. :(
Hi Angela! The same thing with the job happened to my husband and I, way back when we were first married. Lucky for us, everything we owned fit into my little Dodge Omni! We lasted three weeks and came back home. Sure am glad we did!
I love your art. It is truly a gift, and I'm so glad you are sharing it here with us. If you did end up publishing, I'd be sure to buy it!
OK 1st off, your drawings are just way too cute!!
Same as David I made a move (and then another 'cuz that one blew up) & then came back "home" & it ended up being the right/best thing to do. (I would still like to go back to place #2)
and yes our "gut" is correct more times than not.
Put yourself on craigslist or something - you could do pet portraits like those street cartoonists. People can send you photos & a little story & you can send back a picture you drew (for a fee, of course). Us corgi parents love spending money on our fuzz-butt furkids. I would pay you to do a picture of my kid :)
Awww these are so adorable! I agree with Debra, Solomon & Chase about making children's illustrated books with Corgi Adventures! It might take some effort, but if you enjoy drawing them up, just make little stories and submit them to publishing houses!
I know moving can be a real stress, I'm glad you've got people to keep you company and to keep you from going insane haha.
@David: Thank you. :)
@Gromit and Doug: I should find a place to paste that saying.
@Cindi and Twinki: Thank you. I hope so too.
@Ellen Andersen: Thank you for the condolences. At least no matter how down and out I am, I won't stop drawing. :)
@Bev Levy: Thank you. :)
@Lynne Cerney: I will be moving to Muskego, WI, so about an hour away. Fun fact, we used to own a house out in Lake Geneva and spent around a year restoring it to sell it. :)
@Susan Stanton: Thank you. :) I'm sure they'd look cute doing that.
@David Whitehouse: I think that if hubby had kept the job he might have had the same reaction as you. He said that if he could, he would have kept it going 3 years. I dunno though. One of his coworkers was recently attacked at 2pm near work on a Saturday. I don't think that he can really handle the environment here.
@Debra, Solomon & Chloe: Thank you. :) Believe me, I would love to do such a thing. Sadly, I have absolutely no clue as to how to even get my foot in the door. I can tell you though that if I ever did, they'd be either illustrated by intaglio printmaking or water color. I used to love doing those so very much.
