What's new in the world of Hannah

We start puppy class this Wednesday! I'm really excited about it (overly excited, probably). Hannah already knows sit, down, shake, speak, and roll over, but I she just isn't all that focused most of the time. I don't remember what all they teach in the class, but I'm hoping we do some work with the recall as that's her worst area of practice.

We went to a friend's house for the second time to play with her pooches. She has two 60+ lb. dogs, and Hannah loves them to death. I refer to the male as her boyfriend now because she just jumps all over and kisses him, even though he tries his hardest to ignore her! She was a wild woman that night, but she had a lot of fun and was thoroughly exhausted by the time we came home.

We've been using the Furminator regularly since it arrived. She isn't fond of being brushed, but I've been awarding treats periodically throughout the grooming sessions. So far, it hasn't seemed to help much, but we'll keep trying. We've also been brushing our teeth and clipping toenails (both works of progress as well).

We're getting to the stage where plush dog toys are a waste of money. I bought one last night (one of those "loofa" dogs) and found its tail ripped off and its guts spilled out this afternoon. I've been sewing up anything I can because I hate to just throw the toys out. Amazingly, the toughest toy she has is this teeny little bear. It's by Kong and was only a few bucks, and that thing has stood the test of time!

I've been trying my hardest to avoid giving her people food. She does get the occasional bit of banana, apple, and other healthier items, though. The hardest part I've found is when I tell other people that she is not allowed table scraps, and they give me crap for it! My previous dog was overweight and had many health problems when we had to put her down, and I refuse to let anything like that happen again. I just wish people would mind their own business sometimes!

Her belly fur is slowly growing back since her spay almost a month ago. I wish it would grow faster, though. It looks silly!

All in all, I'm loving my girl more and more every day. She's 7 months old now, and time is flying by!
