Thanks for the welcome! Ein got a weeks worth of meds and is worm free now. None of our other pets caught it either, so all in all I think we got off easy!
Hey! Thanks for the comments regarding the Party Corgis :) I lost my password for a while but finally figured this out again. That's a wonderful idea for a "theme" song and I'll get on it.
Hi Wendy, it's an obsession :) The Miele S7260 is the Rolls Royce of Vacuum, it is much quieter than any Dyson, The S7 series have a strong motor, over 1200W, burning out will be highly unlikely. It lays completely flat, great for hard to reach places, no Dyson can do that. The vacuum bags are electro static, meaning it attracts and traps dust. The bags also have an auto shut valve, you really don't see dust.
I call the Dyson the Toyota of Vacuum, they can take quite a bit of abuse, if you do the maintenance, they'll last a long time. When my Dyson dies, I'll step up to the Miele S7 series :) Let me know how it works out for you!
Thanks again for the kind words. When you've been humbled a few times, that's when you start to see that the dogs are really teaching something to you....
Yes! I'm coming to the corgi fun day, and haven't decided what to bring either!
And one of your corgis are petite? I think my puppy is quite petite too, because I've seen so many corgi's much bigger then him. On the other hand maybe at a year old he possibly isn't completely full grown yet...
I laughed when you said you like your friends and dogs a little quirky! A couple of years ago a neighbor stopped her car to say hello as I was walking with my dogs on the dirt road. She started telling me about some other neighbors and, shaking her head, commented "You know, they're a bit odd" I cocked my head and looked at her "Odd? Come to think of it most of my friends are odd. That's what I like about them!" We both laughed and had a good relationship after that. What is so good about "sameness"?!?
Regarding your earlier post, some have more fire in their belly than others ;-D Keep up the good work, in my experience males eventually mellow out ( if you're doing the right things with them ) Take him with you on his own, whenever you can, it will provide more mental stimulation, he sounds smart....
I would not be overly concerned. Lucy has been the dominant one and that may eventually change, but she should be more than able to set her own limits. I understand that Corgis are a slow maturing breed, like larger dogs. If that is the case, the males are feeling their oats especially between 12 and 18 months, getting better around 2 yrs, so you may just be looking at "teen" behavior. It is unusual to have much fighting between dogs of the opposite sex, so that is also in your favor. If you see any sign of overt aggression you can simply tell them to "knock it off!" My guess is that he is just looking to find his place in the family pack order and maybe move up, but it does not have to occur through fighting. That's where you come in and set limits. The message from you needs to be " I don't really care what it's about, I won't have any fighting in MY house!" The fact that he goes and sleeps closer to her does mean they are bonding. They can sort it out within the limits you set :-)
Mowgli is great. He loves people, loves other dogs and is a joy to have around. At first it was a challenge to have him come back in the house as he had a long history of wandering and had been picked up and brought to the Shelter several times before we adopted him. We are on 10 acres, fully fenced, so he was safe, but I worried about wildlife after dark. It took a couple of months for him to decide this was HOME. I never once scolded him, always petted him and gave him treats.... it had to come from him, and it did!
Thanks for your friend request and comment. My many years of working with dogs have taught me that it is easier and more effective to work WITH dogs, than AGAINST them. The first way rewards you, the second humbles you..... :-D

Thanks for the invite! We couldn't make it out yesterday...but definitely will in the future! You said there is a fun day in Laguna somewhere?

There's this professional tennis player named Rafa Nadal featured on the cover of this month's WebMD (it's like a doctor's waiting-room magazine).
Why would anybody name their kid after a corgi?
