How's Rafa doing? Has he gotten a ball yet? We have been remembering all Lucky's soccer balls, he sure had fun with them. We shall root for Stanford unless they are playing OSU!. Looks as if the closer groomer might be OK, she understands IVDD, etc. I am going in unannounced to see how the place is run!

I went avant garde and submitted a fuzzy picture from my cell phone. ;-)

I just saw how you lost Emily! So sad, and I am glad you posted it because people that have their dogs groomed need to be aware. I groom my own because Sparty would probably cause major mayhem if a stranger tried to groom him!

Yep, I totaly agree. Pete Carrol got while the getting was good. And good for Stanford and their re-building years. I am glad the Ducks have a bi week. They got pretty beat up last week.
also, your little Rafa looks a lot like my late "otis". Both Rafa and Lucy are so cute.

I know what you mean. Even though I love my "Tucker", I miss my first Corgi "Otis" so much. They are so different. DUCKS are playing USC on the 30th. I don't like USC either, so I am happy for your Win. Really unhappy about their ex coach now the Seattle Seahawks (my other fav team) coach. Not liking that at all.

I marvel that every corgi owner does not have a Nike 500 8" Jr. Basketball and an inflating needle and an air pump. Doesn't everybody buy those necessities when they get their first dog crate? Rafa will quickly remove the annoying outer skin of his soccer ball.
URGENT: the current recommendation is actually a volleyball, or perhaps it's a water polo ball? Lightweight and lively, smooth tooth-resistant skin. Al gets under a high-kicked ball and takes it right on his snout, bouncing it up into the air like a trained seal. His record volley is 8 nose-kicks without letting it touch the ground. I worry that a soccer ball might be a bit too massive, and hurt his neck or teeth.
Enjoy, Rafa.

WOW, thank you for all of the photo comments! That's too cute that Rafa enjoys the music on my profile page, did he bark, whine or cock his head to the side as he listened to it? I can't believe you haven't gotten him a soccer ball yet *shaking my head*. He'll really like it and give him something to have fun with and focus on rather than chewing your furniture and rugs. Sorry to hear that the obedience training didn't go through this past weekend either. I'm sure both of you will have a great time with the other Petsmart location and instructor. =) Aww I'm so proud of Rafa for listening to you when you ask him to sit and then he added his own flair by putting his paw up!! He's probably looking for a high five!

Hey thanks for the birthday cake. I didn't even get to taste it -- Gwynn & Al hacked into the mycorgi account, so it was gone before I even knew. I didn't have a chance...

Ah, Wendy, we get out of our photos just what we put into them. You have a very nice little camera in the S90. Leave it out where it's handy and shoot away! I wish cell phones didn't come with cameras, those wretched little photos have probably set popular photography back by 50 years.

Your captions look fine to me. Might want to check your browser settings and also see if there is a newer version of whatever web browser you're using.

Thank you for the friend request! Yes, Lucky LOVES his wheels, he was rescued from a snowbank outside of Reno on Christmas Eve. We went thru pages of names and Lucky just fit! Imagine a corgi (or any dog) dumped in a snowbank. I sure miss the days when he was rambunctious (enjoy them) he can still sit and FRAP which is pretty funny until the toys fly into breakable things like antique bowls. Sonny is just Sonny, he likes to EAT and sleep. We rescued him from a family who kept him in a back room as near as we can tell (he was 8, never trained or socialized!)

Wendy & Jack; How sweet! Rafa is a very handsome pup. Lucy is a pretty girl too. I was very fortunate to find Buster for lil Abbey as she was the runt and still the smallest of her sibs. Both are AKC and nice to know their parents history. Busters head is large but has a small muscular build. Thank you for your comments and glad we are friends. keep the photos coming so we can see how beautiful he will become as he gets older.

Gromit thanks you and Lucy and Rafa, Jr. for the b-day balloons. He's getting extra tummy scratching and possibly a large carrot in honor of his big day. Pictures to follow.

Aww I’m so sorry you’ve had such a rough day with Rafa (although I think he had a fantastic day). It can be so frustrating knowing that they’re just growing, exploring and just being puppies but also tearing up our homes. I hope he didn’t do too much damage to your belongings. They really do wear on our patience, I honestly think that’s their prerogative. I’m knocking on wood as I type this but we’ve been extremely lucky that Alwyn somehow knows not to chew on any wires or wood in our home. He just always goes after anything involving feet (shoes, socks, Tevas, slippers, etc). I hope that by now Rafa has calmed down and you’ve had a chance to unwind after all that he had done. Alwyn’s issues are being defiant in listening to us. He knows all of the tricks that we’ve taught him but he refuses to do them. He’ll look at me and when I give him a command he’ll give me a side eye and bark extremely loud over and over again as if to say “NO I’m not going to do it” and then run around. His bark isn’t just a bark either, it’s a very loud pitched bark that hurts my ears. He won’t go for food as a treat unless it’s cheese and that’s only once in awhile. He’ll do more tricks with his toys which was discovered one random night and still I think he’s caught onto that. Sometimes he’ll just continue barking....because! He’s also big into trying to nip when we’re playing around or giving hand signals for tricks. We’re working on it though because he stops when I ‘yelp’. Those are the times when he’s a total brat and just runs my patience thin. When did Lucy finally turn around and get out of her bratty phase? I’m not sure if other breeds are as stubborn as corgis, that’s a good question. My day wasn’t anywhere near as frustrating as yours was but it was good. I was able to get a lot accomplished. I start my first day of grad school tomorrow - very anxious!

Rafa and Lucy seem like quite the cute little pair. I'm sure Lucy is just resisting the urge to get into trouble. In no time I she'll be into mischief like he is and she'll give you the same look to say "It wasn't me, definitely Rafa!". Alwyn is wonderful, but he is also the most defiant, stubborn dog there is. It's frustrating sometimes because he knows what we've trained him to do, he just chooses not to do it. He's fantastic but that part of his personality gets frustrating. Regardless we love him dearly and would do anything for the little guy. How has your day been?

Thank you for being so sweet by sending the corgi gift earlier today. It doesn't matter if it's tri, sable, brindle, blue merle or red I absolutely adored it and it made my day. Thank u again!
