Ah ha! I knew it. It's so easy to tell a trained pro from an amatuer photographer. My company makes jewelry you put pictures into, so I see a lot of great photos. So glad I finally get to see some pro photos of a Corgi (even though I'm sure you have other masterpieces as well!)
So funny that people think Griff is a girl, people think the same about my Nathan. As a matter of fact, they look so much alike in the face...they both have what we call "the Cleopatra Stripe" coming off the corner of their eyes. It looks like eye liner!
Your photos of Griff are amazing! If you're not a pro-photographer you should consider it. You have quite the eye for a good shot. I always miss the good ones. :-(
We're totally ok with this round of fires, sadly so many were not. It was only a few weeks ago the fires were burning between here and Chatsworth. I'll speak for all Californians...we're-so-done with the fires. As soon as the Santa Anas kick up we know the wind will carry an ember, either natural or by the hands of man.
Were you raised in Detroit or did you move there after college? Either way, I bet you miss a California winter!!! It was 80 degrees today (but we really need a lot of rain.)
By the way, read the comment on your page that perhaps Griff is not all Corgi. He is!!! He just a "fluffy" with a beautiful tail! :)
Griff is an incredibly handsome dog! He looks like a fox with that beautiful tail! I haven't seen too many fluffies, they are SO cute! My girl Chloe has a very flat coat in comparison to your Griff, it's fun to see the diversity of the breed. Thanks for posting all of those wonderful pictures!
Sienna is actually from a breeder in Lapeer, this was her first litter of Corgis... normally she breeds Newfies, I guess... :) Big size difference there! But yes, Sienna is a cutie pie and she's good with kids, other dogs, and cats (since all were in her previous home)
Thank you for the sweet comments. Bear is a great little helper. Your medium me picture made me spit my milk all over my keyboard. It was just too funny.
Aww well thank you :) I'm from the west side of the state-- grew up in SouthWest Michigan & lived in Grand Rapids for a couple years. I miss the north quite a bit, but not the winters :)
Hello! Your Griff looks adorable and a lot like mine! Maggie's only three months though, but it's wonderful to see how she'll look when she's Griff's age. What a cutie! Sue and Maggie
hehe, you like that cheezburger site too, huh, or was it you who told me bout it??? no matter, i love that site....gee, wonder what they would say bout my cute corgi or odd corgi pics via captions????
hey, how come it is always daddys girl and mammas boy??? i need a boy corgi kid--- i mean it!
Thanks for your comment on my page. I must say that your fluffy boy is beautiful! Actually, my Risa has a fluffy brother in the litter. Your photos are totally adorable, I like the one with Griff sleeping with your smart shoes :)
This may sound like a silly question, but are fluffies bred to be fluffies? Or is it random which puppy is a fluffy or regular short haired? I've never seen one before, so I'm quite intrigued. Also, does Griff shed? ^^;;
Hi JW! Your Griff is gorgoeous! My Sidney is also undocked, and we get asked about him every day. You are so right, most people never realized that their corgi was docked. I didn't know until I met Sidney. One woman (Corgi owner) this weekend looked appalled and said "I'd better not tell my daughter...". It is suprising that so many people don't know, but at least I'm not alone in my ignorance. Well, previous ignorance. And JW, everyone who did not know it is a US standard says something to the effect of "why do they do it? They have beautiful tails". When I tell them several countries have now banned the practice, they make some sort of statement hoping the change will happen here too. The "bunny butt" is cute and all, but like you said, I can see no reason for it 9except for the maintaining of the outdated "standard") unless it is a working dog. But Cardies are herders, aren't they...and they have tails. Maybe I'm wrong and they are not herders, but I thought they were.
Be prepared for some very limited but vocal oppostion to your stance...but you are not alone. Thanks for speaking up!

Show us some more photos flaunting the tail. Help start a movement.
There's a rescued corgi in our neighborhood, found on the street, allegedly a Pem, looks like a Pem, but has a Cardi-like tail. Gorgeous.
