Quick question for the boards. Kali has been sleeping in her crate since I got her. Now all of sudden when I put her in her crate for the evening, she has started carrying on and really barking before settling down for the night. No changes that I can think of and I have checked her crate and nothing wrong in there. Any thoughts? She is teething but I have given her things in her crate that she likes to chew on. Thanks for any advice.

The only time Brodie does that is when his bedding is a little "stinky" (at elast according to him) when he puts up a fuss, time to wash the bankie. It's not like he's ever made a mess on it or anythng, he just seems to be very sensitive to having a clean kennel.

LOL!! Looking back at my post it does look like a strict disciplinarian point of view!! But yes, I concur with Sarah.... you want to be sure she's not in any kind of trouble. But mostly .... from my experience.... you find it's just Kali trying to get your attention! : )

The strict owner in me agrees with Judi.
The slightly more sympathetic owner in me says you might want to check the room for any odd noises or new machines that might be making a sound she doesn't like.

She's probably just testing you. My advice would be to ignore her. Just like children, they test their boundries, and as soon as you give in once.... they expect you to give in every time. And don't let her out of the crate if she is making noise or acting up. If you feel like you need to get her out, always wait till she is quiet and has stopped acting out. I never left anything in the crates for Soffie and Griffyn to chew on. We use the crate for bedtime, when we're eating and when we have to leave them at home alonge. And we never used it as a punishment or time out place.
