thanks for all those who helped scout find a toy that would keep him occupied! apparantly he loves yogurt... so once in awhile i make him frozen yogurt with a treat crumbled into it to stuff his kong with. Also, he seems to reaally be into pig ears and bully sticks so yay for that!

i did have a question though: how were your dog's appetites when they were teething? we are having a hard time coaxing scout to eat his dry kibble. he doesnt have worms, it could be the new heartworm medication he just started, but i think maybe his teeth hurt too much?

once i tried to freeze half his water in his waterbowl to stop him from drinking it so quickly but then he just dug the ring out instead of drinking his water and made a mess. it was pretty funny though. it gets hot here, are their any other suggestions?

I had this issue too (well still sort of having it). I was feeding Eukenuba and he wasnt liking it, he mabye ate 1/4 cup a day and that was fed by hand. He did however have tapeworms, so I got him wormed and 2 days later or so he still did not want the Eukenuba, but I know he was hungry.

Anyway, I tried yogurt on the Eukenuba and he licked the yogurt off and ignored the food. What helped me was to cut back on his treats, I changed his food to a mostly meat holistic food. (Blue Buffalo) and mixed half that with half his old food. He ate the Buffalo and ignored the Eukenuba, it must have been alot of trouble to pick through the entire bowl. So I just started feeding him Blue Buffalo and he eats most and not the last little bit. I think after some good bites it starts hurting his teeth because he goes and chews immediately. I put 2 teaspoons of no/low sodium chicken broth on the kibble and let it sit for about 5 minutes to soften the Buffalo and he eats it right up with a little coaxing.

Try Chicken Broth (no sodium) at room temp or slightly warm on the kibble. Only a tiny bit to soak the kibble or else he will just drink it. Then sort of feed him by hand once he stops eating it and everyday feel less and less by hand near the bowl until he eats it himself.
Oh and count your treats for one day, I did and it's no wonder he wasnt too hungry he ate practically a half cup of dog bisquits a day! They add up.
lol those dog treats.. its ok i actually stopped giving him any treats in order to get him more hungry to eat his food...i dont know what is wrong with him...he is just as active as he always was but doesnt seem to like his food anymore. he will eat his kibble soaked in water after like 10 min...so i am hoping its just because his teeth hurt and once thats over he will be back on to eating. hopefully our little puppies get through this!
