Hey all,

Recently Chester has been throwing up his food.  It started as like big masses of solid food.  We switched him to white rice and beef, which he has had a better time taking down.  Early this morning however, he threw up again.  He might be eating flowers outside, but I'm not sure.

He is acting normal though.  I checked his gums and they are a little pale.  Not completely, but a lighter shade of pink than I am used to.  Should I take him to the vet, or could this be just a little stomach bug?  Any information is greatly appreciated.

Our corgi Buddy has had a couple of episodes if severe vomiting as a result of chemo. Obviously, chemo isn't a factor here- but, our vets guidelines fir vomiting needing to be medically treated are 1. Vomiting more than 3x's in 24 hours 2. Refusing food or water for 8 hours or more.

With that said, we treated our vomiting spell by giving Buddy ice cubes to drink slowly as they melted and only rice and broth for at least 12 hours after the last episode of vomiting . I would definitely contact my vet tomorrow if symptoms persist or your dog just seems "off". Just like people, dehydration hits everyone differently and will impact things like blood chemistry or kidney function at a different rate. If you are worried still today I would encourage you to call your vet. Our vet has various members who handle after hour calls for each other.
Also, you might want to walk on a leash do you can be sure he is only watering the flowers, not eating them. Many flowers have very toxic oils in the leaves and it is Aldo possible that a chemical drifted into your yard area even if you yourself don't apply chemicals.
Sorry for those lovely typos! My iPhone self populates and I often miss the typo that it changes things to ;-)
Could he be eating his food too quickly?
