Wet feet?

Does anyone else out there have a corgi who doesn't like to get their feet wet? It's been very rainy/dewy here lately, and Gus hesitates before he'll go off the deck and onto the grass. He seems to really not like his feet getting wet! Then, when we get inside he licks them meticulously. Anyone else have a quirky little corgi like mine?

Yes, Mocha is hydrophobic, he would not go potty in the rain unless I stand in the rain with him :(

Our old family dog (a Chow-Corgi) used to do that. I always thought it was funny, but if it is a problem just drag them out there routinely. If you give them a chance to hop back on the pavement they will do it everytime.

Lance wasnt a big fan of wet grass. I also figured out when the grass was wet some areas were more squishy which I think is what he really didnt like!

It's so dry here in San Diego that I really don't know! If we walk on hot days, they seems to actively seek out patches of lawn or sidewalk where someone had recently watered, so I guess they'll get their feet wet to cool down hot paws. I plan to take them to a park soon that has a nice creek and see if SId is willing to explore the water!

Oh, I'm glad Gus isn't the only one! Sometimes I get all dressed for the rain, take him out, and he refuses to go off the deck! I guess he figures holding it in longer is better than getting soaked! Of course, by that point, I am already soaked. Gotta love them!

my dog doesnt like puddles or baths. he sidesteps puddles whenever possible

Penelope hates walking in the wet grass, but she will roll in it and chew at the grass. I don't get it!

George shivers and shakes when I take him out when the grass is wet and dewy in the morning. Of course, he is only three months old so hopefully he will be a water baby like his big sister Rose is.
