Hi Everyone!

I was wondering if anyone was interested in planning or wanted to throw ideas out for this years corgi picnic.  It's been awhile since Carter has seen anyone of you guys and I know he misses his corgi buddies =D

~~Please send some love to Christina.  She planned last years picnic and is unable to continue to plan due to health issues.~~

Here are some of the ideas that have been thrown out there

- Freeport (Freeport Doggie Website) is where we had it last year.  We could do the same thing last time and do like a potluck type thing.  I don't know if Mike & Lisa wanted to plan it again.

Wasn't sure if you guys wanted to go to the same place.  I found a dog park in Hoffman Estates (Bo's Dog Park).  I've never been there but the park looks nice.  I'm not sure if they have day passes though and if they would let us have the picnic there.

Just trying to throw ideas out there. Let me know what you guys think or if you want to plan it =D

Hope to see everyone and their corgi's soon!

Looks like Freeport would be a nice place. Donations to the Humane Society there are a great idea. It's pretty far away from me, though - especially for a one day trip.

I looked it up on Mapquest.  True, it is an hour more for you.

It would add an hour to my drive as well.

Let's see what Sammie finds out about Naperville.

Going to Freeport will add another hour onto our drive as well. I think that since many of you are coming from the south the one in Naperviille/Bolingbrook seems to be the best. I know that area pretty well. If anyone were to need anything there is a big shopping area right there including PetLand.
Lily and I will be so happy to meet you guys!!
Lily has such a pretty face.  You better bring the basset hound I saw in those pictures, too. I love bassets!
Jimmy will go too, he is funny and lazy but loves to play !

LOL  That really made me laugh.

You see my husband's name is Jim and sometimes I call him Jimmy!

I noticed you are from Naperville.  We may need you to rent the picnic area if that is what is required.

Hopefully, when Sammie talks to the event coordinator she will be willing to waive any fees since we will be giving a lot of money to the dog park that day.

Sammie said she will talk to the event coordinator at the dog park in Naperville about what fees they might charge us for having the group there.  If that goes well, we will have our location.

I looked on their web site and rental of picnic areas start at $35 and each price is doubled for non residence.  If they decide they want to charge us we will need someone in the Naperville area to rent the place to save on the cost.

I am from Naperville =)
Right!  Great minds think alike.  I just wrote you the same thing!
Hey guys. I just wabted to give you guys an update. Ive tried to call the lady and i keep missing her. Ive left messages but have yet to get a call back. Im in the process of moving today and tomorrow but ill try and contact her in between. Ill let you guys know if i hear anything! Thanks for being so patient with me!

Thanks for doing all the "grunt work" and moving at the same time!

I am very curious what the woman will say.  Remind her that we will have a lot of people paying $5 a dog to get in the dog park and that they ought to let us use the picnic area for free.  I just hope it is not already rented out to some other group or family.
