Hi all- This may sound funny but our corgi cannot resist pooping when outside for extended periods. For example, we took her shopping today (outdoors) and she pooped 5 times! This wouldn't be that much of a problem except the poop gets runny towards to the end and it's all messy :(

We have to bring tons of plastic bags when we go out. She's ok if we're in the house and she just goes twice a day.

Any idea how to stop her from doing this or why she's doing this?

You may consider the type of dog food you are feeding. Some foods are highly corn concentrated which doesnt digest as well as some other ingredients. Premium foods contain more digestable ingredients thus produce less waste. May be the volume is the same but being outside she goes when she feels a "slight" urge and when home waits. May also be related to stress as well. Not infrequent for dogs to get loose stools when they are somewhat stressed.
Hi Sam! She is able to resist at home and we feed her high quality dog food (wellness) so hopefully this is not the problem. Perhaps she is stressed though she seems to be having fun while outside! Hrmmmmm.....
How many times do you feed her in 1 day? More food & treats = more poop.
We feed her 2x .a day. No significant treats cuz she has to watch her corgi waistline hehe. It's just when she is outside (where there is access to grass) for extended periods.
hmm... exercise do encourage bowel movement, since you feed her twice daily, she should have 2 bowel movement, but it depends if she completely empty tho. My vienna can always "produce" on demand, so once in the morning, once in the afternoon. Mocha on the other hand, don't go in the morning, he will "hold" it until in the afternoon, and during our walk, he'll go 2-3 times.
hmmm....I've never heard of this before.

I don't know what could be causing this but I know something that might be helpful...
When I had a corgi (he was a rescue and I fostered him for a few months) there was one time I couldn't walk him for a few weeks due to personal issues (family member was in the hospital) and when I did finally take him for a walk (he used to walk twice a day, everyday before the hospital issue) he had a REALLY bad upset tummy and had bad,bad sloppy poop on his first walk in a few weeks. That, and the times he got really excited to go somewhere were the only time he had a really bad upset tummy. What I'm getting at is, do you take your baby for daily walks? If not, perhaps she's just too excited when she gets out or maybe being around new surroundings and strange loads of people make her nervous. I hope you can clear this issue up! :-) good luck

also, this might be cliche, but have you asked your vet? He/she might have a hunch as to why this happens. Good luck!

Take care--
