My corgi only wants to eat every other day.
Rather, she only wants to eat her DOG FOOD every other day. When she doesn't eat, I with hold treats and things because I'm trying to figure out when she does eat. She is 9 months and not over weight. She eats about a cup and a half of puppy food, and then doesn't eat for the next day and the day after she eats about a cup and a half. In between we run, we have rigorous fetch workouts. She seems as spritely and happy as ever and is still interested in treats, but she just... I don't know... doesn't want to eat every day.
Her poop is normal, twice a day. She's eating Wellness Puppy.
Is this sort of eating habit normal?
Does she look healthy to yall? She's my first corgi.

She looks very fit in this picture. What is your feeding routine? Do you leave food down all the time? I like to split my feedings in to two sessions. They have about 10 minutes to eat then I pick it up. I have a youngster that periodically will skip a meal. As long as they seem fine otherwise I dont worry much about it. Free choice feeding does not establish an eating routine so some dogs just pick. Usually as they age it leads to obesity. Try setting a routine and see if that doesnt help.
I try to feed her in two feedings (when she eats) once in the morning after a walk and once in the evening. I don't leave it out mainly because I have two chubby cats who would love to have it.
I leave the food down for about 10 min and then pick it up.
We have the same problem with Westin, only it's not routine like every other day when he doesn't want to eat, sometimes he'll eat dinner and not breakfast, or sometimes not at all, sometimes won't eat breakfast.... it's a toss-up every day! But the only thing I've tried to do is instead of trying to get her to eat treats throughout the day, use her kibble instead, so she's getting her nutritionally balanced food instead of generally fatty treats.
My Marley is a slow eater too. I give her about 10-15 minutes and if she is not eating I pick it up. She usually notices this. Then I wait about 15 minutes and put it down. Then she will usually eat a good portion of it. She is crated when we are gone and sometimes I'll leave it in her crate with her as well. You can also give her food as a treat when you are doing training.
Lily does not eat her breakfast at all. She will eat her dinner only because it is moist food. We do mix her moist and dry together. Before I started doing the moist, she would only eat every 2-3 days. At first she would eat all her dry food, but when it got really hot and humid here, she stopped. I changed foods when I 'tested' her and gave banana with her food and she devoured the banana and left the dog food alone. You have her on a really good food already, so maybe it is just the heat getting to her. You could try a little moist, see if that helps. Good Luck! Oh, and your baby looks so healthy. I will have to put a current picture of Lily on here, they could be 'twins.' Your baby is so cute!!
What I've been trying lately is putting stock (with the fat scraped off the top) in with her food so it soaks in. She's loving it.
I think you're right about the heat. After coming in from a ride in the car or a walk, she's not interested in doing anything except lay on the tile!
The stock is a really good idea. I am glad that she is eating more. When we noticed that Lily was not eating, I looked into other foods. The food change is what helped her start eating again. When we bring Lily in, she comes into the kitchen and does the same thing~ that cute little position with her legs behind her. I just love that! Gosh, Corgi's are so adorable LOL
This one really touches home for me. My pup has been doing this since day 1 at my house. I used yogurt, broth, soup, Kong-Puppy cheese, green-beans everything. I changes his food several times and cut back his treats. He just wasnt a big eater (his food anyway).

All this effort was a mistake because now, he almost refuses to eat unless there is something amazing mixed in. So I weened him off the toppings and made him just deal with it. I took Sam's advice and allowed 10 minutes to eat (I did 15 though, because it took him 5 minutes to even look at the food) and now he is eating all of his first meal and about 1/4 of his second meal everyday, skipping his first meal entirely about once every week. It's better than before.

That "They never found corgi bones near a full food bowl" saying is true, she will eat. I am trying to get mine to start eating in his kennel so less intresting things are going on around him to distract.
I think you are right about the distraction part. For the past three meals, it's been lockdown during feeding time. We don't play or pet or chase during food time, and even if she doesn't want to eat, she has to stand next to her bowl for the ten minutes. There hasn't been a spec left since. It turns out that eating is better than being bored!
