Food and Potty

Has anyone used Kirkland brand food from Costco that could share their experiences? It is so much cheaper than what we are using and it seems to be a decent food, considering the first ingredient is chicken and it has no corn, wheat, or soy. I've read mixed reviews online, so I'm not sure what to think.

We are having such issues with how often Jinger poops. It's anywhere from 6-8 times a day! Her poops are solid and normal looking, and we've tried three different foods. We currently have her on Nutro Natural Choice after switching from Blue Buffalo, but the pooping often problem still remains. It's very hard to potty train a puppy (she's now 7 months) when she has to go so often. It's strange because she will hold it some days up to 7 hours when we're at work (in her crate), but when we're home she just goes constantly without letting us know she needs to go outside. I don't know if she has an allergy to something in the food, or if this is just the way she is. It's pretty much the same situation with peeing, but this is not as much of an issue because with poop she eats it. Anyone else have this issue or have any suggestions?

Franklin used to poop a lot too. Maybe its a puppy thing. He's since grown out of it but still might go 3-4 times a day. My brother and 2 of my friends have used Costco dog food, not sure if it was the Diamond (?) or Kirkland but it was bought there and their dogs have always done fine on it and have been on it for years and no health problems or vet visits beyond annual exams. I'm not a Costco member anymore so don't know much about the food or what kinds they sell.

Our dog trainer recommended the Kirkland brand. We have been happy with it. Had a dog that had allergies and seemed to have less allergy issues when we switched to Kirkand.

I would give it a try if I were you. I was making myself crazy trying to choose the most expensive food I could get my hands on. With intervention from my vet and husband, we are back to using something we used before I went nuts. Everyone is doing fine on it. Give the Costco a shot and see how it goes. Good luck!

Ginger was on this before she developed bladder stones and did fine on it. She pooped 2, maybe 3 times a day and it was always solid. Now we're on expensive, prescription dog food. Oh how I long for the days of $24 for a 40lb bag of dog food! :)
