As long as we've had Dante he has had a terrible case of dandruff. It got even worse after his first dose of comfortis. I dont overbathe him, and he gets regular brushings, so i am wondering if it could be the food change (his previous owner fed cheap kibble, we use innova), or comfortis? I feel so clueless but i've never dealt with a case that didn't resolve itself. My husband thinks it may be an allergy and wants to switch to a grain-free food. Any suggestions on what the cause could be, or on solving this for him?

Foxy has dandruff as well. I feed her fish based protein and it seems to mitigate but not eliminate the problem. After a dosage of comfortis Foxy had very itchy ears which resulted in a cone for a while. I went back to frontline but I am worried that the fleas in the area are resistant. Either that of the resident gopher is contributing to the problem.

Hi Rachael, it's not the food or comforts, simply add a tea spoon of oil to his food daily, turn up the humidifier at home.

I feed mine Canidae and they really like it, I mix in a can of sardines at night for them.  The omegas really help the skin, and they love it.  I recently changed to the ocean fish, which is grain free.  They like it, but I still mix in the sardines...they love them!

Thanks! I added some good quality oil to their food today. I already have sardines on my grocery list, so I'm glad to hear that will help as well.
