Ok well kobi is not 8months old.
As a puppy id feed him 1/4-1/3 cup 3x a day, and since then 2/3-1 cup 2x a day.
In the morning my mom walks and feeds him before she goes to work and feeds him 1 cup.
At night, when i feed him i feed him 2/3 cup or 1 cup if he had alot of exercise or hadn't eaten much during the day.
so currently is 2cups= 1 cup 2x a day too much or little?
I see dog owners in general feeding their dogs/corgis once a day with 1 cup. I feel like thats too little and must be torture for the dogs lol.

Hi Elisabeth, since Kobi is still young, you can continue to feed him 2 cups for now , once he finish growing and meet his ideal weight (2 years old) , you can re adjust his portion then.
It also makes a HUGE difference what kind of food you feed him. I feed Frosty Pedigree. Since it is full of "filler junk" we'll call it, he gets 2 cups per day. However, if I had him on a topshelf high-protein brand like wellness or blue, he would probably need less than 1 cup per day.
When we brought Frosty home (at 1 year old), he was getting 3 cups per day. I thought after 2-3 months that he was looking a little chunky, so I cut him down to his current 2 cups. He is now 3 1/2 and in perfect shape. My point is, take a moment every couple months, and step back and look at your corgi objectively. Does he look fat? Thin? Healthy? When you see them every day you don't really notice these things. Or ask a friend that knows what a corgi should look like.
DO NOT focus on the fact that he might be starving cause he is getting too little food lol!! We all know dogs are pigs and would gorge themselves continually if they could. We give Frosty lots of little low calorie treats during training and play during the day so he doesn't pull the "I'm wasting away" act lol!!
The proof is in the pudding. As long as he has a bit of a waistline and some meat on his ribs, while you can still find them easily, you're OK. If you need to make changes up or down, make those changes small, not drastic. 2 times a day feeding is preferable IMO than once a day, so I would stay with that.
