Hello Everyone,

Ramji is about seven months old now and I think he is blowing his coat because the weather is getting really hot.

He had little bumps around the back of his neck when he was a puppy, they went away but have now returned with a vengeance.

It was never this bad, now he has them along his back, around his throat, and a bit around his butt area.

They are little bumps and scabs---It doesnt seem like it bothers him too much. He will occassionally strach but nothing out of the ordinary. I pick at the scabs and they come off along with some hair. I know that it's definately NOT FLEAS because the Vet checked for that and I havent seen a flea on him in months. He is also on Trifexis. (If he had fleas, I would also be covered in flea bites...)

What could this be?? I actually did mention this to the vet and she prescribed shampoo. It seemed like it was working the first time I bathed him but I dont know if it's working anymore.

The Vet compared the bumps to acne...

Do you guys have any other remedies for this? Or know what could be causing this?

Please HELP!

Thanks!!!

A couple of my corgis do this.  I'll see a tuft of fur and a scab will come off with it.  We just make sure we bathe well...and not a lot.  Corgis stay pretty clean on their own unless they go running through a mud puddle!  When bathing, be sure you rinse extra well.  Soap can stay in their thick coats.  And be sure you dry him very well, as again, the wet coat can cause skin irritation.  Brush regularly with a good coat rake.  Use your furminator to get loose hair.  It's important that the undercoat not be allowed to im-pact.  When it curls up on itself, the undercoat, it creates a blanket that keeps the skin from breathing.
