Parvo outbreak in Western Washington state, Puget Sound area. Attention puppies!

Parvo outbreak western Washington state , early Dec. 2012.  Puppies are especially vulnerable.  Read up on it.  I don't know much about vaccinations, schedules etc.  Do your homework.  If I had a young pup, I'd be avoiding public places until the shots are done and have had time to work.

Parvo is one of the many three sets of shots they get. And they say your not safe to take pups out until four weeks after the third shot. And not even then are the 100% full proof. Any puppy can get it whether they have shots or not if under the age of 1yr. But shots do protect and give a better chance of your pup not getting it. Stay away from high traffic areas is good. But remember a cat can carry it in, you can carry it on your shoes and parvo lives on any surface for five years especial soil. Best protection is shots and patiently waiting to explore with your pup. I live in eastern Washington and we have a hard time with it here.
