Winnie, age 4, spayed female pemmy, recently having problems with "owie paw"..out of nowhere she shows up with rt front paw lifted, kind of a limp wrist pose.  Minutes later, nothing! VET diagnosed as either a) chondrodysplasia and/or nerve-root bursitis in "shelbow".  Rimadyl for a starter, no jumping (good luck with that one she said) and possibly Methylpred later.

Al did that once, deep in the backcountry wilderness on a backpacking trip.  Scared me.  But it disappeared promptly, almost as if his foot had "gone to sleep" while he waited for me to put up the tent after a long day.

Check carefully for anything in the paw -- it's not the season for foxtails, but I once found one deeply buried in the pocket between toes, it was totally invisible and I almost missed it.
