For all those who have puppies this is a good link on how to save your puppy in case of poison intake through the mouth.

Just want to put it out there for new puppy owners. Does it work on older dogs too?

It's a good article that would apply to dogs of any age.  The dose for peroxide is 1 teaspoon for every 10 Lbs of body weight.  This dose can be repeated every 15 minutes for up to 3 times.  In my experience it works quickly.  The thing to remember is that some objects and substances are as dangerous coming up as going down.  An excellent use of this method, for instance, is if your dog ate chocolate....

I  HIGHLY RECOMMEND the following book to anyone who has cats and dogs.

"PET FIRST AID" by Bobby Mammato, DNV, MPH  put out by the American Red Cross

I have it myself and have given it as a gift to family and friends. It will tell you exactly what to do in an emergency, when time is of the essence and also help you make the distinction between what is a true emergency and what is not.

Also keep this number in that book for quick reference:

Like when you carry along an umbrella, hopefully you will not need it :-)
