I have about a 14 week old tri that seems to be changing colors. Is this typical? I'm seeing lots of brown hair come in where black was. Her hair is also getting a part or ridge down her back. I guess here hair is getting longer, I don't know. Kinda of a strange looking dog these Corgis!

That probably means you're going to have a little Sable corgi instead of a tri...
It is typical for dogs to change color. My Corgi has changed color a lot. (Just recently too and she's 2 years old!) She's been a deep red and white for almost the whole two years, but just recently she's getting darker down her spine and her tail has a slight black tip, almost as if she has a bit f sable in her.

My sister's Borzoi was almost all white when we first got him, but now he's 9 months and he's white with blue and brown spots! And my friend had a Beagle pup that was a tri colored with almost all black on his face, but now that's he's older, his face is totally brown.

It's neat to watch your dog change isn't it?
Think of their coloring sort of like freckles. We don't always have them when we are born and we sort of aquire them. Dalmations dont have their spots when they are first born either ^^ Its all just a part of their genes settling down and them growing. After all not even babies are fully developed when they are born :) Its completely normal. My own little boy has a lot of "ticking" which is red hairs presseing up in the brown. So he will look a lot like his mom with a lot of red on his sides and I have a feeling his face is going to be much whiter by the time his colorings finally settle in. but there is nothing to fear :)
Tris will loose alot of the black on their heads, thighs, and shoulders depending on if she is a black or red tri. Alot of ppl think they have a black tri til they get alittle older and they shed. One way to distinquish a red from a black is the lining around their ears. If there is a black line around that ear that is prominent from looking straight on...then they are black tri..any molting on the face or head signals a red tri. Black tris have distinct markings w/clear lines of black. Sables can get darker as they she pup coat out. Some pups are born looking like they might be sable but as they loose that pup coat they are red and white. Some red and whites do get some black hairs in there but is not considered a strong sable but a sable to say the least.
