whiskers

Hello, I'm a first-time Corgi owner so please excuse me for being naive...

I just realized how LONG my 8 month old's whiskers are. He has many, above his eyes...near his chin...near his mouth....
Are we supposed to trim their whiskers? Or should we just leave them alone?

yeah, plus if you trim them then they'll grow longer and longer. Next thing you know you gonna be braiding them;) (joke)

I'm sure you CAN trim them if you want to, but I would just leave them alone. I love Dax's whiskers. :) Besides, I know they serve a purpose, I just can't think of what it is at the moment...

Yes you should leave them alone, whiskers assist the dog to measure and sense the width of his environment, if allows them to determine if a gap is wide enough for them to fit in :)

Wiskers rock...don't touch them. I adore my boy's whiskers. Especially Ziggy's - he moves them like a sea otter. LOL

I believe the primary purpose of dog whiskers is to tickle their owner's faces while said owners are napping/sleeping. They are also used for collecting cobwebs and various debris to deposit on clean areas of their home.
