My corgi, Kizzy, has a weird habit. Whenever we give her a rawhide stick or some kind of bone treat, she carries it around whimpering. then she will drop it at my feet and jump back from it like she was getting a shock or something. i give it back and the process repeats. This goes on for some time and then she settles down and chews the bone. not quite sure whqt to make of this.

Haha it seems like she's thinking, "Can I really have this? No, you should have it first because you're the leader. Ok if you really really really don't want it...." Not sure what's going on, but that's what popped into my head.
Yeah, that's what I was thinking. she is a really good dog for 7 months. Just different than our previous 4 goldens.
My dog does that sometimes, too. And I've realized from watching her for a while that she's whining because she can't decide where she wants to hide the bone. I can't say this is what Kizzy is doing as well, but it's possible.
Lola does this also, especially if I am lying in bed and she has no where to hide her bone. Oh and if you touch it after she is done covering it with blankets she gets SO mad, lets out a huge sigh and starts to cry again looking for a place to hide it. So we don't touch her bones anymore haha
Maybe she simply enjoys getting gifts from you and wants you to relive the moment lol. Do you break up treats before giving them to her usually? Maybe she is telling you "It's too big mom!"
Thanks all. you have some good ideas.
Kirby used to do this when we gave him rawhides. He would wander all over, looking at various spots to hide it, and whine, pathetically, every once in a while. I would feel bad, like it was just torture for him to make a decision on where he should hide it! He would eventually find a place, and all was apparently right in Kirbyworld :-)
