The title says it all. I'm pretty psyched to see this. I liked the graphic novel and I heard that the movie will be pretty faithful. The trailers looked good.
The graphic novel was pretty interesting. Especially since it kinda turned the idea of superheroes on its head (they have faults!) It's set in an alternative Earth circa 1980s. While superheroes have no real powers (except for Dr. Manhattan), they are (or were) a part of society that fights crime. Its a little dark and in some parts violent, so if that's not something your okay with (like my wife), you might want to not see the movie. Otherwise, it should have lots of action, special effects, and (hopefully) it retains the storyline and plot.
I was very impressed with what Zack Snyder did for 300, so this time around with more scene shot outside of the green screen, it should be quite interesting, oh and lets not forget Silk Spectre :)
Hollywood has been trying to adapt Watchmen almost as log as I've been alive. I really hope it's worth the wait. If you haven't read it yet, you should stop what you're doing and read it now. Right now. Seriously.
A very geeky aside: My husband and I are likely going as Silk Spectre & NiteOwl for Halloween. This was after we ruled out Chun-Li & Guile and Riker & Troi, even though I bear a fair resemblance to Marina Sirtis.
I can't wait to see how many hardcore geeks paint themselves blue for opening weekend... *shudders*
Wow, the watchmen was long, almost 3 hours. Here are my thoughts: (NO SPOILER)
1. It helps if you read the series before watching.
2. It is much darker than the dark knight.
3. It is not something you bring the kids to watch.
4. CG was awesome
5. Politically and Historically hilarious.
6. Prison fight scene.
7. Awesome soundtrack
8. HELP! I cannot get the blue dong out of my head!
Your funny! Yeah, I was expecting the blue dong of doom either. I thought it was going to be like a ken doll deal...but most importantly, why did they put him in such a ridiculous cover?
I haven't seen the movie yet and the trailer looks good but, some of my family members went to see it and they didn't understand it. Maybe I should read the novel first before i see it cuz they didn't.
I will, I will, I will, when I finally finish reading it. I'm such a procrastinator! My boys went the first weekend without me (an unusual event) and they tell me I must finish the book first. But they will see it again with me, the darlings. I really meant to be ready. really I did. The book will come with me to the beach next week (spring break), although I have no excuse for waiting this long. Mea culpa, mea geeka culpa.
