Okay - this post is regarding my puppy's flatus, so if you find the word "Fart" offensive, read no further.

Okay then. My puppy is about 5 months old, and has been eating Bil-Jac puppy food since he could eat dog food. In the past month or so however, his farts have become increasingly frequent, and almost unbearable. I don't know if I need to change his food though, because it's all he's ever eaten - this is still a semi-recent development. It was also never this bad. Often times we find ourselves scouring the living room looking for a giant pile of poo that is causing the stench, but everytime we are shocked to find nothing...it seriously smells like I have poo like, 5 inches from my nose. It is the most god-awful smell.

Last night he did it in the car...and my god. Ugh. But yeah - I need a solution before my lungs melt.

Oh man, we have had the same problem! I'd try switching to another brand--blue buffalo has been really good with my puppy. Also, try looking into yogurt. Organic yogurt with no artificial sweetners is a good choice. I'd stay away from vanilla flavors due to it possibly being artificial and your puppy is allergic to corn (like one of ours) as they mix it with corn at times.
I'll check the Bil-Jac ingredients. I've heard a lot of good things about Blue Buffalo. If he doesn't improve, I will definitely go that route.
Oh my god I so know that feeling lol, our Reggie is dying from the inside out I reckon from the smell he creates. We have found its due to the speed that he eats, as opposed to what he eats, no matter what we feed him, he will always let rip (silently of course!). We try to make sure he eats a little slower than he used to, and it does have some effect.
That would make sense. Ollie does indeed make his food disappear often times. I need to play closer attention to that. If that's the cause, then I'll be feeding him half when i get home from work, then maybe the other half when I eat dinner. Great observation! :)
My boys do both the lethal silent ones and the audible ones. It makes me laugh whenever I hear him because he'll turn around, sniff it and then walk off as if to say "ewww" at his own smell.
We've been getting the Wellness brand food for about 5months now which they seem to like. Both are free fed since they were puppies so it's not about the speed eating for us.
I do know green beans and sweetpeas (we use this as snacks) tend to increase the gassiness....
Oh wait - snacks! I completely forgot about those! That's probably it! Since we've been going to puppy school, we bring a bunch of diced hot dogs to use as training treats. It's probably the freaking hot dogs...Thanks Steve. I think you may have given me the clue I needed to mystery of the lethal puppy poots.
