Kipper is a Pembroke Welsh Corgi, he looks just like a corgi to me but every now and then I feel like he's not. I got him from a local breeder, I did not see the parents only his sibling. He came with papers although i'm not sure what the papers are. He's very small for his age. He is 5lbs at 17 weeks, he was the runt. My vet thinks he's full Corgi but the vet tech thinks somewhere a Chahuahua was thrown it.
I love Kipper regardless I'm just interested.

it does look like maybe there is some chihuahua in there possibly. but he is a very cute dog regardless.
He could just be the runt. He doesn't look like a chihuahua to me. *Shrugs* I would think if he came with papers that would be an indicator. I don't think mix breeds can get papers (this is an assumption on my part.)

I've heard that Chihuahuas were used in some corgi breeding to produce a "mini" corgi. So that could be the case with your breeder--was Kipper's siblings around the same size or bigger?
The sibling was bigger than he was.
He looks like a full corgi to me and very cute too
Looks like a full corgi, just on the small side. He's still young... he might grow a lot and surprise you!
He looks all corgi to me too...
Looks like a corgi to me. You could have a moose like mine lol. He is 5 1/2 months old and is as big as my one year old corgi and he still has lots of skin and feet to grow into.
He looks like all corgi to me, a little small, but way too cute! He will change a lot as he grows and fills out but he may always be small. As long as your vet says he is healthy, I wouldn't worry about it. As far as papers go, it really doesn't matter unless you are planning on breeding him.
Kipper's a doll, he's annoying at times but what puppy isn't. He catches peoples eyes and melts their hearts. So I guess whatever he is he's something special. Haha, Thanks for the Imput.
Atlas is a tiny guy, only 19lbs and full grown. His dad was a little guy too, only 21 lbs, and the mom was average. He is full corgi though, and has the AKC papers to prove it.
If you are really curious you can get your pup DNA tested for about $40-$50.
wow, five pounds at seventeen weeks? Coven is already thirteen, and he's sixteen weeks
Looks like a full corgi to me! My Opi is only 20 lbs and he is 11 months and is full corgi.
