potty training
I'm sure this has been posted several times, but I'm new to the site since I just got a corgi.
Anyways, he is 100% paper potty trained at 6 months old.
Any suggestions as to how to train him to go outside? I tried stuff I used on the yorkie I used to have, but this is completely different.

I don't know if you've already tried moving the paper pad in front of the door, then within the door's threshhold, then the porch, down the stairs, and finally, out on the grass. This could take a week, a month, whatever, and there could be relapses, all depending on your pup.
But that's the idea behind the paper training. The paper eventually ends up out on the grass so he can start marking up your grass with his scent, which will attract him through instinct and memory to always want to go outside on the lawn, rather than look for a potty pad nearby (since there won't be one nearby, it will symbolically be outside).

Yay!! Don't forget to move the pad to like a million places so the grass will be absolutely crawling with urine smell.

i agree with sunni on moving their pee pad outside. ein didn't really pick up on the pads so we just started his potty training with taking him outside to the same spot over and over again. remember, if they make in the right spot to throw them a party. seriously, praise them for doing so, they'll pick it up fast. we got ein when he was almost 5 months old and he wasn't potty trained. we got him going outside in about 2 or 3 weeks :) your pup may relapse on his progress but just keep up with it and they'll get the idea.

I am sorry to say but, paper training is teaching the pup to use the house as a potty area, now you will have alot of problems transitioning him to outside. I say start all over, forget the papers and only use outside as the ONLY place to potty, take him out every 2-3 hours and use alot of praise when he performs correctly, expect alot of accidents and confusion, use a crate when you are not home. I do not like the idea of puppy pads or papers, it just sends mixed signals to the dog, he now thinks inside is a great potty area. Lots of luck
