Blood in urine

Lola & I will be heading to the vet in the next hour or so. My husband noticed on Saturday that after she urinated, she had a couple drops of blood in her 'girlie' area. He saw this a couple times that same day & noticed that she would try to urinate rather frequently. We've noticed that when we take her on walks, she'll pee 3-4 times (in a 40 minute period). We always thought she did it just because she was out & about. Now I'm worried she's had an infection for a while :( Has anyone else dealt with this? And could it possibly be from allergies (she has them really bad...)?

She has been peeing pretty normally. I talked to another vet & she said if she seems to show any more problems, then we should have her urine reexamined. She also said that the reason she is prob peeing frequently only at the park or at another dogs' house is because she's marking (which is common for dominate females... and she is that!!!). She was on her meds for about 3 weeks & I think that helped clear her up. I would suggest taking your pup in... you don't want it to turn into something worse!!

I took LaVerne to the Vet yesterday and they found blood and crystals in her urine and put her on a 2 week course of antibiotics. Then we will restest her and if she still has crystals in her urine she suggested I switch her food to Hills Science Diet cd dog food, something Id rather not do. I hope the antibiotics reslove her issue.

Sounds like what they did with us. The 2nd vet I talked to mentioned switching her food to a salmon & potato food... she said it was pricier, but might help w/the urine & her allergies (they're pretty bad this year!!). Keep us updated on LaVerne's status!

Salmon and potato....mmmmmm...sounds good to me...lol. I will keep that in mind.
Thank you and give Lola a big hug for us! Hope you get a handle on her allergies. I know how miserable that can be!
