I was wonderinf if anyone out there has used the Frozen Bil-Jac food with their dogs before? I know Lyla's breeder fed it to her dogs. I am not looking for it to be a daily food for my dogs, as I am very picky about their food and have them both on a very high quality food, but I have heard of people using the Frozen Bil-Jac as a training reward. Lyla is not motivated by any of the treats I have tried so far, so I thought I might give it a try, I just don't want to be putting a lot of fillers or allergens in her.

If not bil-jac, what have been some low calorie, natrual training rewards that your dogs have really flipped over? Poor little Lyla is so stubborn, if I don't find something soon that motivates her, she might never get trained! =)

Update: Today I found out that Tamar Geller author of The Loved Dog (who I just think is fantastic!) has a line of healthy, all natural dog treats. I picked some up and they were a big hit at my house! Sky loved them, but he loves everything, so his vote doesn't count. ;) Lyla though was actually motivated to sit up (albeit slowly). This is a big deal for a lazy little puppy whose favorite position is lying down. Hopefully things will continue to go this well with these new treats.
maggie really enjoys the veggie old mother hubbard biscuits. we brake them in 1/2 or in 1/3.
Finnigan loves Newman's Own Organic Chicken and Vegitable Dog Training Treats. They are like little sausage sticks so you can break off small pieces at a time.
Oh yeah, Sid likes those too. Not a bad price at Target, either. I like how you can break off the amount you want.
why not just use the kibble you currently feed them? That is what we do...especially with food motivated dogs...then give one special treat at the end.

Ours also like carrots, ice cubes, cheese, organic pb biscuits by Think! (can get them at Costco), tortilla chips, raw potato, broccoli, zuchinni, summer squash, green beans, most veggies really. Colbert reeeeally likes avocado.
Quila really enjoys the frozen organic green beans that are sold @ Costco. I'm sure they are low cal and delicious for her! Ice cubes are another newly discovered low cal treat that she likes too! Yum ~ Yum!
Dried liver is pretty lean, green beans work too. I just break up the liver chunks into smaller pieces. Ice cubes I will second, ours loves him.
Charlie Bear liver treats.
I use "Life's Abundance" training treats. They are made of Duck meat in the form of little flat pieces, my dogs give me plenty of attention! You can carry abut 15 in your hand at a time, wonderful treats. You can order them online at www.trilogyonline.com/Desjardins
