Gracie is a typical puppy and likes to have fun. She seems to really seem to pick on me more than my husband. When I am lying on couch, she has mastered jumping up there with me without an invitation. I know I need to work on that. When she gets up there, she comes right up to my face and starts nipping at me. I tell her "no bite", scream ouch and yell, and that seems to make her do it more. I even tap her on the nose with my finger. I know she will grow out of it but we need to "nip it" in the bud. She starts puppy classes soon. Not a moment to soon! LOL!

I think you are doing all you can by gently letting her know it is not ok. It didn't take long for Tucker to stop biting me, but it definitly took him a while to stop treating my 9 year old like another puppy. Of course her running from him and shrieking only made him more excited. We had to teach them both how to work around the puppy biting. Sometimes we put Tucker in another room for a few minutes to calm him down if he was very wound up. Most of the time we tried to re-direct him with a toy to chew on. It does get better - we have had him for three months and it has improved greatly.
My beagle puppy was way worse than Pengu is.
Just when it seemed we couldn't take the biting anymore, it toned down. The "no biting" command started to sink in.
But this helped alot..... Whenever puppy is coming to sit with you and starts on your face or hands you get a ziggy or bully stick or some other good chew toy and just hold it for them. So far both my pups reacted well with that and we can spend some quiet time with the puppies.
Finney isn't much of a biter, but I tuck the upper lip over their upper teeth while they are biting me, so they would end up biting themself more than my hand. Then I just say "no bites". It sounds mean and I hate to do it to my sweet guy, but I don't think yelling is very effective. They learn pretty fast when they hurt their own body, though!
When our last corgi, Toby, was a pup we would stick a toy in his mouth to chew on, instead of us, and after awhile he would come up to us with a toy in his mouth. Then he started greeting us at the door with a toy in his mouth. He did that every time until he passed. I have started this with Finnegan, hopefully he'll catch on.
