So Jasper, like most Corgis, has always been very excited about food time and always cleared his bowl right away. But for the last week and half he hasn't been as enthusiastic about eating. I'll put his food down and he kind of looks at it and then runs over and starts playing with his ball. About 5 minutes later he'll mosey over and eat it. He always finishes it but just doesn't seem to enjoy it as much as he used to. He gets fed 3/4 cup twice a day at around 8:30 and 6:30 with a couple treats in between. I figured as long as he's eating I shouldn't worry too much. Maybe he's going through a growth lag (he's 6 months old) and just isn't as hungry these days. HOWEVER...

We went on a road trip to Florida (about 10 hours) last Friday. We left early in the morning and I fed him before we left. He's made the trip back and forth twice before and has never had any problems with his tummy but a few hours into the trip he threw up some kibble and then a couple hours later he threw up some yellowish foam which I assume is bile. Each time he threw up I pulled over and took him out to get some fresh air and he acted perfectly normal. I figured he just had a random bout of car sickness and he had no problems on the way home so I didn't worry too much about it. However, this morning before he ate his breakfast he vomited yellow bile again, I fed him and he was fine. Then later on today, around 5:15 he threw up bile twice, I fed him and he finished his bowl.

He did this a couple times when he was younger, but it was always before breakfast when he hadn't eaten for a long time overnight. He never acts sickly after he does this, but this coupled with his lack of enthusiasm for eating is sort of worrying me. Should I be worried or is this a somewhat normal puppy growing up stage?

With the eating thing, Yogi and Abby are sometimes fussy too. We didn't pay too much attention to this behaviour because we don't want them thinking if they are being fussy we just give them what they want. It's probably because he's had treats in between meals. we made it a habit not to give them treats as much anymore, and they eat their food right up. if you give in, then you lose power, then Jasper will be the boss. We did that mistake when Yogi was a pup, and now, when he wants a certain treat, he sits next to the bag of treat he wants, and points at the bag with his snout or his paw..

As for the throwing up, if it's not a common occurance, it's probably nothing. I've never experienced this with any of the kids...they throw up, but it's nothing. One time Yogi threw up and had the runs as well, we fed him boiled chicken with rice and the soup..no salt or anything like that obviously...He was fine the next day. Did you think motion sickness is a possibility? Since Jasper was on a long ride in the car?
Thanks for the advice. Yeah Jasper usually gets treats when I leave the house to run errands and I'm in and out throughout the day so I guess I could cut back on that. I wondered if maybe I've been feeding him too much, but he doesn't seem overweight. I thought it was motion sickness initially because it first happened while he was in the car, but like I said, he's been on that trip twice before and never had a problem with it and he was fine on the way back. I didn't really start worrying until today when he threw up without ever being in the car. : (
Yeah the treats thing is a slippery slope. Yogi was not overweight before...now we compare him with his pics from 6-8 months ago, and we're like....wow! we HAVE to cut back the treats!! Lol...he's doing much better now...The throwing up thing..if you're really concerned, you can always ask your vet, but i doubt your vet would do anything. As long as it's not something he does everyday or quite a lot, it should be ok....We don't get very scared if our baby throws up, right? It's the bloody runny poop you should worry about. Yogi had it once, and just seeing the blood on his runny poop gave me the shivers..

I understand you worry about Jasper...you will get over it as he's growing up...we were the same way before too. Have faith in yourself...I'm sure you're a great mom
