Me and my boyfriend went to the midnight feature last night... Omg amazing! I am a HUGE Miyazaki fan, I've seen all but 3 of his movies, my favorite is My Neighbor Totorro <3 Anywhos, it was fantastic! If you like Spirited Away or Totorro then you will love it! The entire movie is hand drawn, you can see the pencil marks in the back ground so the movie is absolutely gorgeous! Beginning to end the movie is amazing! Even the Jonas and Cyrus kids did a great job voice acting! They even sing the Ponyo theme song in the end in classic Studio Ghibli style, it was great! And Liam Neeson! One of the best voice actors ever! It was so nice to see such a wonderful family friendly happy movie again! And the best part about it, there was a character named Toki! I can't wait for it to come on dvd so Toki can watch it! She loves her Miyazaki! I think if everyone in the world watches this movie there would be world peace, so start watching!

Thanks for the review! I love Miyazaki as well, especially his earlier work like Laputa and Nausicaä. Is there a tear jerker alert for this one?
Lol not at all! It has a great ending!
Hurray ! I'm so glad someone mentioned this movie! I havn't seen it yet but plan to.!!!
I just watched Ponyo yesterday and loved it! It was soooo cute and funny :D
We saw Ponyo, and though it was cute, and great to look at, I'm afraid it just doesn't measure up to his other movies. I would consider this one as a children's film. I loved the Peter Max type theme of the father, and the young Ponyo (trying not to give anything away here) was charming. FAR superior to other kid's movies I've seen lately.

My fan bona fides: while in labor with first child, I brought video of Tortorro to hospital even though it wasn't out in English yet, and I speak no Japanese. (Except "Nissan", I think, from Full Metal.) But I just can't give this film a rave.

I love Spirited Away and Howl's Moving Castle so I will definitely see Ponyo!
Oooo! i want to see this now. I love Miyazaki's movies :)
I saw this and even though I liked it, it was crazy. I loved Howl and that was crazy too. The animation is amazing, the story is good and the voice acting is above average. All in all, even though some points made little sense, I was still drawn into the story.
