My corgi, Cody always seems to have sinus problems-he always sounds like he's congested and always snores (sometimes VERY loudly). It doesn't seem to ever go away-does anyone else have a corgi who is always congested?
He is a little overweight-we've had him on some food the vet recommended for a few months and he hasn't lost any weight yet....we don't give him treats very often either.

No sinus problems although sometimes Izzy does snore. As far as the weight goes just keep cutting back on the amount you feed him. How much does he get now? Izzy tends to put on weight so I occasionally cut back her food. Right now she is on !/3 cup twice a day but I add green beans to her dinner too. Sparty never snores and is very active so he tends to be slim. There are just too many health problems that come with age and extra weight to ignore it when they get a little over.
He gets 1/2 cup of food just once a day-I was reading about adding green beans and how they fill the doggies up and I think I'll try that:)
He gets lots of exercise and loves to run around with our basset hound, Hannah....I guess I'll make sure to keep that up:) thanks!!!
We've had Bunny on the 1/2 portion of senior dog food (lite if possible) and either frozen green beans, canned pumpkin (nothing else added) or other water based veggies for 6 months and she's lost 5 lbs so far. She loves her veggies! Romaine lettuce, bulk carrots, celery, cooked zucchini etc. The only ones she doesn't like are swiss chard, kale and spinach. Haven't tried brussel sprouts either though.
She gets a large carrot as a bone several times a week. Last week she took a head of romaine lettuce out of the bag of groceries while I was getting more bags out of the car. It was beyond rescue by the time I came back. She selected the romaine over the green or red leaf in the same bag.
Bunny does that backwards sneezing thing corgis do - scared us at first, but we asked the vet and they said it was a backwards sneeze after they heard it. She also does the regular sneeze thing too., so who knows.
She snores sometimes, and the position she sleeps in doesn't seem to make a difference (on her back, side, tummy). Sometimes its louder than others The vet has listened to her breathe and didn't seem to be worried. She was up to 38 lbs and is down to almost 30 now. She has about 7 more pounds to lose, but we're taking it slow and easy.
She's lost more weight since the veggies started and she gets 1/3 cup of senior food am and pm
