I have a 13 week old female Pem. When we first brought her home at 8 weeks. we took her out every 2 hours at night. Slowly increasing the time intervals. Now we are down to once let out per night, but she does not wine when she need to go (so we do not know when to take her out and is peeing in her crate. I have it small and she is still peeing and trying to sleep around it (just missing the pee). I have tried cutting off water a couple hours before bed. But doesn't seem to help. She as gone the whole night with out accident a couple time(but there was no change in her schedual). Anyone have some tips on how to get her from 5 hour to being able to hold it to 8 hours.

Thank you all for your comments they have been very helpful
Stella is approaching 11 weeks and we only need to take her out once a night at most (Most nights she sleeps through the whole night - so I know it is possible). Of course we had to work ourselves up to this point!

I think Beth is right - There might be something waking her up at night. Maybe you guys are moving around at night while your asleep which wakes her up (remember - dogs have very good hearing and Corgi's have even better hearing than the average dog). What has worked for us is exercising and playing with her close to bedtime. This ensures that the pup is tired before bed. Our crate is left downstairs - not in our bedroom (so we do not accidentally disturb her). I think the key for us has been making her exhausted before bed - she is less likely to wake up and stays asleep.

Best of luck to you I hope everything works out!
Adora has now gone all week with no accidents thanks guys! Now just to consintrate on the day time accidents.
It takes time for pups to potty train completely. A 13 week old, generally, will have to potty about every 3 hours. She might have to go in the night and you're just not hearing her. They really don't want to potty in their crate if they can help it. Also, in my experience, at around 16 weeks they backslide on the training a bit. I think it has to do with how they're growing, but they can have accidents some around this age.Take your time and your little girl will potty train just fine.
One of the most valuable things we found when we were house breaking our dog, was that we had to make sure that the crate was just big enough for him to get in and turn around. Anything more than that, and they can soil at one end and then sleep at the other!
Maybe you could cover the crate at night to try and block any of the noise you make that might waken her, but I would leave the back that is against a wall open so that she will get fresh air in the crate.
We had the same problem with Rolo... and I know your girl is doing better, but in case someone else has the same problem, I thought I post something I haven't seen added yet.

And it seems cruel and horrible but remember, it's only to be used as a last ditch effort... and ONLY if there is no other reason your puppy can't hold it... (too young, sick, etc.) If you are taking her out every three hours and after meals and water, and after heavy play... and you feel like she's just doing it because she *can*...

Take out the bedding.

With nothing to absorb the pee, she'll get more disgusted. Yes, you'll have to bathe her a couple times. Yes, you'll have to clean the crate. But it should only happen once (or twice for a stubborn pup) before she gets the idea that peeing in there is bad.

Rolo was almost a year old before we gave him back the bedding. In his puppy months it was just too tempting as a potty... and now he understands that it is in his best interest to not piddle where he sleeps.
each month is = to a hour of being able to hold it in, so at 13 weeks your pup can really only hold it for 4 hours max, its a good rule of thumb to live by!
Try limiting water, say pup goes to bed at 8, then last water should be at 5, this is only going to be a short term thing, once your pup gets bladder control you wont have to limit the water any more.
try getting up a half hour earlier then normal to potty the pup.
soon it will pass, and you will forget the pup had crate issues! :) good luck!
