I finally found a breeder that tests for DM!
I finally found a breeder that tests for degenerative myelopathy and I am absolutely thrilled. Not only do they test for DM, but they test for may other conditions like OFA, CERF, vWD, etc. I am getting my puppy the end of February and I can hardly wait!

A good breeder always should do that. Our cardi breeder was excellent, having all of the genetic testing done for both parents.

Thank you. Yes, his name is Romeo. I had such a difficult time finding a breeder that would test for degenerative myelopathy though. The other genetic tests were not as hard to find breeders testing for. I am very pleased with these people!

With DM, if both parents were tested does that mean there is no chance of their offspring having it? I know that with hips giving the parents clearance does not guarantee a puppy with good hips, as my pup is proof of, and I'm not sure how many of the other ailments breeders tests for work the same way.

Actually, they test the each pup for DM.
