does anyone have the tug-a-jug? i wanted to get something new for teddy and something that would keep him busy as he is getting bored of his kongs, which i cant blame him. so i came across this. most of the reviews are from corgi owners lol but now i am worried, would he figure out how to get the food, i mean teddy is super smart but i dont want him to get frustrated and just ignore it. any reviews on this? and im not sure what size to get him. here is the link so u have an idea of what i am talking about:) http://www.drsfostersmith.com/product/prod_display.cfm?pcatid=17814

your welcome:) im glad i could help u out lol
I actually have bought this, but Lance hasn't used it much yet. I bought the one that has a rubber rope instead of a regular rope, since I figured he would want to chew on the rope.

Im afraid that he may just chew the tug part off of it, so I want to spend time with him first showing him how it works, til he has it figured out. Every time he gets a piece of kibble out, I was thinking of rewarding him for it and then eventually he will be able to use it on its own, well with supervision so he doesn't end up chewing the tug part off.
i see what you mean, i didnt see one for a rubber rope just thread but i will still supervise. i just hope teddy can figure it out
I got one for my Teddy and he just ignored it. He's also smart and very food driven but for some reason, he just wasn't interested in it.

Good interactive toys that Teddy adores is http://www.amazon.com/Kyjen-Egg-Babies-Original-Platypus/dp/B0009YH... and http://www.amazon.com/Kyjen-PP01056-Hide-Squirrel-Large/dp/B0002I0O... Both are great fun to him and he loves pulling out the eggs and squirrels and hiding them.
those look like fun! i bet he would like those too:) thank you for the link. im just scared that he will get the squeaker out and ruin the toy but im sure it will take time to do that lol i think he will love those as they are soft, he prefers soft toys:)
Both the eggs and squirrles are surprisingly strong. Teddy will also disembowel soft toys to get to the squeakers and these have lasted the longest.
We have the bald eagle one for our 2-mo. old, Chewie. Paws-down, her favorite toy. She even drags the eagle with her to sleep. I agree, it's a great toy--I didn't know there were others though. Time to check those out!
I have one and Bucher loves it! He brings it to me to put more treats in it. It is a little noisy though! Sally doesn't like the noise so she won't play with it, but she does smell it like she would like to.
im hoping teddy will do the same lol he is really food driven. he will do anything for cheese! haha but for now i will use kibble. what size do u have?
I have one; it is very noisy, and can actually be kind of messy as well. Kibble flies everywhere and in our house it can end up under the sofa or behind the stove, and then Casey's clawing at the couch trying to get the kibble underneath.

Casey figured out a system (where she props up the bottle in a corner, so the opening is facing down and just hits the rope with her nose) and can get all of her kibble out in less than 5 minutes. It does slow down her eating, but it certainly doesn't afford her "hours of entertainment" as the ad would like you believe. Maybe the first 2 or 3 times she used it, but once she figured out a system, that was that. You could put something big in there that was impossible to get out, but that would just be frustrating, and they lose interest after a while if they aren’t getting any reward.
i see what you mean. i dont want him to get frustrated. he has been with his kongs as i put something in there that will not come out but he gets bored. and then like you said after they figure it out its basically useless....hhhmmmmm
awww lol poor little guy. but at least it hasnt happened again thought:) i figured after awhile it will get boring or figure it out but then again teddy loves food, if he gets bored of his kibble i suppose i could put chicken and cheese in there if i am super busy lol
