I need kinda a fast answer. We're moving Saturday. Even though it's cold here the dogs are still shedding but Max was really shedding. I shouldn't say shedding, he wasn't losing hair but his under coat was showing through. Then Molly started. When my husband grabbed and pulled at one the hair still had skin attached. As soon as we get moved I'm taking them both to the vet, but I'd kinda like to know what I'm up against. Any Ideas?

If there's no visible rash, skin discolouration, diet or behavioural change, I'll say "stress" - specifically from all the changes around the house and the impending move.
Lets hope Sam. It has been hectic. Thanks!
Be very careful to keep them contained.  Moving is a classic scenario for losing a cat; dunno if it's as bad with dogs.  They won't know the new neighborhood, and there will be much excitement and stress.
Adding some info: When you tug the hair out it has dried skin attached in different sizes. Can't see any rash or anything. The places are all on the body, not head, feet or tail and the kind of feel like small tiny scabs.
