So exactly 4 weeks ago tomorrow Adora broke a toe, we took he in. She had a split and bandage on here paw as she broke a weight baring toe. She had that on for 2 week and 1 day. when she got it off there where a few sores because of the lack of oxygen under the bandage, which vet said was normal. and told us to soak it regularly in warm water and Epsom salt which we did. i was slowly getting better. then, 25 minutes ago while watching a movie my boyfriend looked over at the dogs and adora was on her side facing the opposite direction with her legs going wild, first my boyfriend thought it was her playing with rhun then just then rhun started nudging her with his head, and he put two and two together, we ran over, watched to make sure she didn`t hurt her self during it. Her eyes where wide open as much as they could be staring forward, her body rigid and all 4 legs going a mile a minute. seizure lasted about a minute. for the first minute after it stopped she tried to get up but legs where wobbly, like new born puppy, calf trying to stand. after she could she kept trying to walk around, almost like a boredom pacing. Vet is closed, and i really hate the emergency vet office, they charge an arm and leg just to look at your dog, rude, ignorant, try getting away doing bare minimum. I would rather not waste my or her time, unless she has a second. we will bring her to our vet in the morning anyways. I have herd of a dog having seizure from infections. Could her toe paw injury cause seizures? Could it be a bigger issue? they where alone all day free range of house. Except for 1 hour when the dog walker came and took them on a short walk( it is freezing out right now, where we are) and played with them. it doesn't look like they got into anything while we they where gone, so toxin can be ruled out? I am going crazy just thinking about it and worrying, anyone gone through this, any words that would help me sleep till we can see the vet would be really great. So far 30 minutes has gone buy and no second seizure, but i am not getting my hopes up, and my fingers are crossed.
