So Rhun is home with us, he is Adora's brother from the same litter that was being rehomed poor fella, they are 8 months old. Adora is my first dog and i have been noticing some new behavior and wondering if it is normal, temporary, should be unacceptable and stopped, and what we can do about it? Or has anyone else dogs do this? What other thing should i expect to happen?
1) Adora has called down both inside and outside the house, since bringing Rhun home. Adora is...was a very friendly, energetic, independent on the go kinda girl (like her mom). Rhun is a aloof, cuddly, loves to follow you around and not energetic at all rather be a couch potato (like his dad).
2) Rhun keeps piddling in the same 3 spots, is this marking or just not knowing where to go and how to tell us he needs out. Sometimes they are big sometimes there just little piddles. I know for sure that 2 of the spots is where adora had accidents when we first moved. He is not fixed yet (appointment for the big snip on monday) But adora has been. I know he is the submissive one and adora is the alpha. Will fixing him help this problem?
3) They both hover there food really fast (Adora faster than normal) when they eat anywhere near each other. Is this a competition thing or fear that they won’t get to finish because of the other dog? But they are fine with water.
4) Adora also swallow some treats whole (which concerns me, the size of a nickel or smaller) when i have them sit beside each other for a treat.
5) They must walk beside each other on when on leash, but don't care when off leash.
6) They always wait for the other and must go up or down the stairs at the same time. Rhun wasn't use to so many stairs and is slowly getting use to the big set.
Any impute would be great.
