Does anyone use doggy daycare on a regular basis? I just dropped Ein off for her very first day (well half day) at doggy daycare. I know she's old enough to be crated for 5 hours straight if I needed to, but I don't like dealing with the cage crazies afterwards. She almost 5 months old and has so much energy that I like the idea of her playing and getting all worn out while I get some much needed shopping and errands done. I know she's gonna come home ready for a good nap which means I can cook and eat dinner in peace. $16 for 5 hours isn't bad at all, but it's not something I can swing multiple times a week. Once a week or a few times a month is doable though, and I think it'll be worth it. What are your thoughts on doggy daycare?

I've taken Henry to daycare before we had Luke to keep him occupied, he absolutely loved it and would sleep pretty much the entire night afterwards. I also liked that the daycare place offered boarding, so at least he wouldn't be in a totally unfamiliar place if we had to board him.
That's exactly what I was thinking Jane. I've been lucky enough that I've never needed to board my dogs, but if it ever becomes necessary I want them to be in a familiar place with familiar people. That's also why I'd like to go 3 or 4 times a month, so it stays familiar. Plus they have a punch card option which will be great if we're having other people watch our dogs. They can drop the dogs off for a full day of daycare if they need a break, and not have to worry about paying and getting reimbursed.
i would really like to send kirby to daycare, but up here, it runs $32 a full day/ 21$ per half day... so its way out of my budget
My boyfriend and I are looking into Doggie Daycares for Shelby, since we'll be taking a trip and she cannot go on this one. the one we took her to only put dogs in kennels while they're eating. Other than that they sleep, play in a large room. I think it would be a good idea, just so the puppy is tired when you're done with your errands. The first time I took her to an outdoor park she was beyond ecstatic. After an hour or so of playing she slept for a couple of hours.
