Yesterday, I accidentally started an email discussion on Chocolate for dogs. Talking with a few we got talking about Ice Cream for Dogs. For the last 6 months mine have been getting only homemade Ice Cream. My Vet has approved this recipe.

Homemade Peanut Butter Ice Cream

32 oz. Vanilla Yogurt
2 mashed bananas
3 Tbsp Peanut Butter
3 Tbsp Honey

Blend together all the ingredients until very smooth. Freeze in small paper cups (I recycle the small yogurt cups). In the small yogurt cups I only fill it up half way. Cover each with aluminum foil and freeze.

I make mine in my Kitchen Aid using the whip attachment, but you could easily do it in a blender.

I have got to try making this. Can we use any kind of honey, or does it have to be regular clove honey?

I might try this myself. It sounds nummy.
Ok. I was wondering because there is a farmer's market in town that sells local honeys. I have a bottle of their Orange Blossom honey, and it is amazing. I was just wondering if I could try that too.
I LOVE orange blossom honey, as well as the tulip poplar honey, that's very yummy!
Thank-you for sharing this George V!! I printed it and I cannot wait to try it our for Mandy. :) Lori
Mmm, I'm printing this out and making it this afternoon. I have a half carton of vanilla yougurt just begging to be used, and bought nannas just this morning!
This is a cool recipe!! But I did not know that dogs can have banana?
Yup, as long as it's not a whole lot (and the most that would do is upset their tummy). I block the holes in the Kongs here with bananas and freeze. =3
Oh wow! Move over Frosty Paws!!! This is terrific and we are going to be really good corgis and leave some for our human to try, too (after all she has to clean up the kitchen after us)! NanMom says she's going to let us use her best Tupelo honey and crunchy peanut butter. But, we want BIG paper cups! Thank you George V (also the name of a 4/4 bagpipe march NanMom used in piping competitions) for this addition to our corgi culinary treats! With a whirr of the blender from: Bear, Tasha and wee Linus (the hairy Twinkie) in Williamsburg, VA
This sounds so yummy. Should be fun to make!
That's such a cool idea! My doggie doesn't eat ice cream! She only eats dog food, by her own choice! However, she loves to steal fried chicken!! I think I"ll make this and see if she likes it. If she doesn't i know that my 5 year old will.
