I am having a problem with my 8 month old Stella barking at feeding time. We switched to a raw diet a month or so ago and the barking has intensified. I also have a 10 yr old Beagle and have been separating them for feeding because the barking has sparked some fighting. When Stella starts to bark, I tell her no firmly and she will stop for a moment, but she soon starts up again. I make her sit quietly before I put her bowl down; the barking is happening while I am getting the bowls ready. Even if i put her outside, she will bark. Thanks, any help will be greatly appreciated.

Sparty likes to do this too. I just tell him no and if he does not stop I turn my back on him until he stops. It is tough on the other two dogs but he has stopped doing it for me.
Thanks for the reply. I am hoping she will grow out of this. I feed the dogs early in the morning, after my daughter leaves for school but before my husband is up. He does not particularly enjoy his new alarm clock.
When I turn my back I also freeze in position. I forgot to tell you that. Sparty stopped right away but he is exceptionally smart!
