I am not docking tails BUT I have an appointment made for Sat. am to clip my pups dew claws! I really hate to but they stick out far and look like they could easily get caught! My Bella has her front but not her back so I might go with that option! I believe this is a safety matter or I wouldn't do it at all!

Very interesting you have chosen to leave the tails. I took Dylan, our 7 month old puppy with a tail, to his first kindergarden puppy socialization class on Thursday night. It is put on by a breed association club, many puppies of different breeds, some being socialized to be ready to be shown, I felt quite a bit of snobery towards a pembroke corgi with a tail. I am sure they looked at me like, backyard breeder.....I wanted to say, do you people realize the person who whelped these puppies and nursed and saved them and felt they were not strong enough to go through the trauma of docking the tails has so much more knowledge than you snobs and quite possibly could be judging your puppies very soon.......however, I just smiled and refrained...Dylan had a great time with all of the other puppies and fit in very well.
Good luck with all of your puppies, ours also still has his dew claws. We live on acreage and he whips around and has never had a problem.....
