Bad Product List - DO NOT BUY
Do you have a bad product? something that just don't work or worst hurt your dog? Tell others about it!
I bought this No Pull Trainer for Vienna several years ago, it worked in the beginning, until one day when i was lifting vienna, she "yelp" and I went and check, turns out her armpits were bleeding and had scalps from the abrasion from the No Pull Trainer, needless to say, I return the product immediately and felt extremely guilty about putting her through this. I repeat, DO NOT buy this product.

Ooh, sorry to hear that she got hurt! I really dislike all "gadget" type "training" aids. I guess some would accuse me of discouraging innovation but I think these types of aids (haltis/gentle leaders, easy/walk/no-pull harnesses,flexis (in most situations), anti-jump harness) are a substitute for training and are for people who want a quick solution NOW instead of working with their dog for a week/month/however long it takes. A collar, a leash and some treats! It's as simple as that!

It flashes and lights up just fine. The issue is that the bone is made up of two halves, front and back and the one tiny screw that holds it together isn't long enough to do the job so it pops open, which in turn causes it drop off the ring attaching it to the collar. If you're lucky, it keeps flashing so you can find it int he dark but half the time it would stop flashing after it fell off so you'd have to grope around for it. You could superglue it together but then you can't change the battery. Into the junk pile.

I love how bright it is and the flashing mode is VERY eye catching, which means SAFE! Now that the days are getting shorter, it was time to break out the reflective vest and flashing collar!

I am with you on this to an extent. I use regular collars and chokers when walking/training, but only because I know how to use them to train properly. My mother on the other hand, will just let her female choke herself at the end of the leash with a choke collar instead of correcting her like she should; so I gave her a gentle leader to use and she does better with it and the dogs isn't choking. So, for people who have dogs that are not much on discipline I guess the "gadgets" work, lol, like my mom. She just prefers to walk the dogs and relax as opposed to making them training sessions.... Guess that's my job *sigh* lol

amen to that!! I bought a dog toy from Old Navy that we've had almost a year, but others last about 2 weeks...that's when I start finding fluff everywhere!!

The only product I've found that wasn't good...and it may have just been Pistol's system, were dog treats called Zen Puppy - Peace. They are to be totally organic. My daughters' yoga instructor bought them for Pistol. He got so sick...but all better now and back to good ol' rawhide chewies.

yea there are these organic treats some lady makes up in VT and the gas station sells them for her.
so far I haven't heard of a dog that's liked em lol

That is so true! Patti and I purchased one of these trainers for Tank when he was young. We had the same result - horrible chafing under the arms! The little guy was hurting so badly! I felt like a bad corgi-mommy! However, we switched to a Gentle Leader by Premier and had much better luck. And Tank wasn't crying in pain when he had to use it!

I am sorry. That type of no-pull harness is bad news - it causes that exact injury a huge amount of the time and even when it's working, it's working because it hurts.
Prong collars are actually the safest thing to use on a pulling dog; it's almost impossible to hurt a dog when using one and they're not painful even a little bit. A German Shepherd Dog breeder that I was very good friends with worked with a vet who was seeing what he called an epidemic of neck injuries from gentle leaders and other head harnesses; normal chokes and even flat buckle collars cause damage to the trachea if the dog leans into them. Prongs are about the only thing that the dog can't hurt himself with, and are the safest choice for a novice owner.

I have no personal experience with the prong collars but I do agree with Joanna, I have seen them used in our obedience classes on a few dogs (with the trainers help to adjust) and they have worked wonders!
