I keep seeing these Bark Boxes and thinking it would be a great idea. Could someone who has experience please tell me if they ever include hard toys? All of the ones I have seen so far come with plush. Star Fox would have these torn to shreds in about 5 minutes :)

He knows how to do that. It's freaking adorable!

really?!

Indeed he does. He uses it to evade out cat Peekaboo all of the time. It's hilarious.

Fortunately our PetSmart is nice, though frequented by lots of pets.

I do think the Bark Box sounds really neat and I like the idea of being surprised by what you get. Until Jack was a year old he could play with any toy. But with the two of them and Maddie being Ms. Destructo, it's not for us. But a really cool idea nonetheless.
I am sorry about your bad experience at Banfield. I've heard some other bad things, though some people like them.

Akbar, it may be true that " lot of weirdos go to those stores" but you will find many of your fellow My Corgi members like PetSmart and go there often.

Ours are clean. I like that they promote rescue. They have dog rescue groups there regularly, and they have cats in house.

We got our own sweet cat from a private rescue that had animals in PetSmart about 3 years ago. It was a very good experience and we love her very much. As far as kidnapping, I have heard of attempted kidnappings in just about any area where a pet might be, including homes and parks.

We have taken our own dogs there, though I think they find it over-stimulating so we stopped. We never had a bad experience though and have been going there for many years.

So to each his own.

I have no issue with our local PetSmart, it too is very clean, staff is friendly and I frequently take Frank in there just to get pets and treats if I'm nearby. HOWEVER, I would NEVER in a million years take him to Banfield. They are by and far the worst vet I have ever ever ever had experience with. I have never actually been to a Banfield vet myself but working at a vet hospital I see the results of errors they make in patients who come to us. I have also worked with a few ex-Banfield vets and often question how the heck they got their DVM, one of them even asked ME how she should treat the pet since there was no manual to follow. It was insane. Anyway, PetSmart is great in my area, however I'd probably rather take my chances treating my pet at home in an ER rather than taking my pet to Banfield.

They also have by far the best selection of wild bird supplies in the area. Since we feed outside birds, we like that too.

Got our first Barkbox yesterday and the rubber "hide a treat" ball was a BIG hit.  I'm saving the soft toy for a few days.  I had also given Barkboxes to two friends who adopted dogs recently, and they both texted me yesterday saying how much their dogs loved the Barkbox stuff.  I thought it made a great "new baby" gift.
