Sophie has started a new bad habit.  She barks constantly in the car.  It seems to start when a car passes us but she will not stop and it continues even when cars are not by us. She will not stop when I give her a firm No and sit and stay, she used to be so good in the car.  Any suggestions on how to correct this annoying bad habit.  She was just 1 year old at the end of Sept.

I would try the canned air...I forgot what it was called. It makes a fairly loud gushing air sound and really gets their attention. We used it for my older corgi when he went on a barking jag. Our's was called Pet Corrector.

I tie mine in with a chest harness in the back seat, very short leash.  They can't see out the windows much.  Less fun for them, buy maybe safer.

Lilli rides in a crate in the back seat. I'm sure she's safer, and she's certainly quiet.  I used to ride around with my beagle buddy, and I miss that. He'd stick his head out the window and claim all the world that he could see. As long as the car kept moving, his world kept on getting bigger and bigger. A corgi in a crate in the back just isn't the same, but starting over with a new dog gave me a chance to do it differently.
