Becoming a Nervous Nelly

Over the last couple of month, Camber has become quite nervous of me, especially in the living room.  If she sees enter the living room while on the couch, she’ll jump off and if Elys is on the couch, she go running to her.  She’ll try to hide behind like I am going to do something.  I am the one who walks and feds her.  I asked Elys to push Camber away if she starts acting like that, only allow Camber to come close when she is called or she feels unthreatened.

Is it anxiety Camber has?  What is going on?  In the morning, Camber is fairly friendly to me and she likes to play outside some, but in the living room especially she so scared.  I can barely get her to take food from me.  If I make her do any kind of work for the food, she’ll just walk away and pace a little in the corner.  She is not aggressive and I am not going to stop petting her and doing what is normal for dogs.  She is about 10 years old.

Any ideas?

Have you ruled out any health issues? Maybe her vision isn't quite what it used to be?

I think it's time for a thorough vet check.  I agree with Jane.

I am quite confident her site is excellent, it was checked over the summer.  She was totally sitting next to me when we had guests over, but she acts like a different dog (actually like guests) when they are here.
