Hi everyone, I am having some problems with my Pembroke, Tobi. He is 6 months old and is a little ball of energy, but he likes to bite, A LOT. He will just come up to you and start biting hard and even with a tap on the nose & saying "no" he continues to chase you around and bite. We try to give him his toys but that only works for a little while. Will he grow out of this as he gets older? Also, whenever we crate him when we leave he continuously barks and does not stop. But, at night he is fine. We have tried putting blankets over the crate, but it does nothing. He never listens when we tell him to be quiet and he barely comes when we call him by name.

Thanks for all of the replies everyone! Definitely going to try all of these suggestions.
Glad to see that your being so proactive. You are doing the right thing and it shows that you love him. Classes are good, I have taken Coco and Dino to Persmart when Zak George from Animal Planet was the trainer. What a great instructor.
I just want to make sure we raise him right, I love him so much. We're definitely going to take him to PetSmart classes, my aunt has taken all of her dogs and they turned out great. But, you're lucky you got Zak George, that's awesome!

I would recommend a high pitch yelp and ignore walk away or high pitch yelp and offer his toy as an immediate alternative or hold a treat in your fist and say no bite and basically reward him when he "gently" plays with your hand.  And if that does not work, get a spray bottle and spray him if he tries to herd you.  Pazu used to nip at my heels and grab my jeans with his teeth and I would immediately stop, and say no and spray him at about the same time.  Afterwards, I just had to say no and not carry the spray bottle.  He got the message really quickly. No yelling or raising voice - it adds excitement, especially when I realized that a lot of puppies have to learn that "no" is a negative word.  A loud no is just like YAY! to them because it's the energy you are projecting.  You can figure out if your dog really knows the word "no" if you put him on a leash and put food and walk by it and if he goes near it, say no. If he understands, you won't need to pull him away.

Best of luck with Tobi!

Thanks for the suggestions, we're definitely going to start trying the spray bottle on Tobi.
My wife and I are having the same problem with Leena.  Try an empty beer or pop can with coins in it.  Corgis seem to HATE the noise.  Also, when he bites, act really upset as if you are physically hurt (fake crying, OW!).  Good luck!
Thank you! Definitely trying this too, hope it works! And good luck to you and your wife with Leena!
Just a warning on this one. I know it works for a lot of people, but it made Henry very noise sensitive to certain sounds. We used to shake an empty water bottle with pennies in it, and he started becoming afraid of anyone even drinking out of a water bottle. Obviously we stopped using it immediately once we noticed, but it's taken quite a while to get him to the point where he will even sit in the same room with me while I drink water out of a bottle. I think it's the crackling noise of the plastic he doesn't like. Granted he's a very soft dog but just be careful.
I think your corgi will most likely outgrow the problem if you don't train him out of it first. I think if your dog bites you, you should let out a high pitch shout like he hurt you. Maybe this will stun you pup into letting go and when he does praise him like he just entered heaven :). Shouting never worked for my dog but "no" did so you have to find whatever works for your dog. With barking you can correct him by saying any sort of noise such as "no" which a minor correction for my dog, Caesar Millians "cchh" is to snap him out of the situation, and victoria's "eh eh" is a series situation where he really needs to snap out of it. Once your dog stops barking reward immediately so he knows he's done something right. With the "come" problem you need obedience training, as in you reward like it some sort of party whenever he comes to you on command. I recommend you look up training tutorials on the internet or even in the library. Hope this helped in some way.
We've been looking up some training tutorials online recently and the ones with Victoria are great! The only thing he's really learned so far from the training videos we watched is that when we put a treat down he waits until we say "take it" to eat it. Still have a long way to go, but we're gonna make sure Tobi keeps learning and listening to us. Thank you for the suggestions!
Oh wow, I didn't even think about that one. We were shaking my Hello Kitty bank at him, I hope he doesn't react like Henry, that sucks :/ Thanks for letting me know!
Try freezing carrots and or green string beans, keeps them busy, might be a little messy but I agree they will grow out of it. I trained my pup to "shuss" buy putting one finger over my lips like you would do with a little kid, finally she got it.  Took a little work, and it always dosent work.  Maybe your pup is borded?  Good luck.
