Hi all!
I'm considering changing the dogs to new food. I am happy with the food they are on, but am looking to save some money if I can. I've been researching on dogfoodadvisor.com all night and think I've reached a conclusion.
Right now, Tucker eats Blue Buffalo Healthy Weight. He gets a cup a day to keep him from sausaging up. I found that Premium Edge Weight Control is also a quality product. I can buy a 35lb bag for $40 vs. the BB at 30lbs for $51. More food.. less money.. apparently the same quality. Anyone have any experience with the Premium Edge brand?
Zoey eats Blue Buffalo Freedom which is grain-free, but not super high protein. Her coat looks much better on a GF food. I'm looking at Hi-Tek Naturals Grain Free for her. I can get a 30lb bag for $46 vs. the BB at 24lbs for $52. Again, more food, less money, same quality according to dogfoodadvisor.com .
Anyone have any experience with either one of those brands?
Thank you!!

I feed Sam 4health, it`s a Tractor Supply exclusive brand. It`s comparable to BB ingredient and nutrition-wise, and costs about half the price. He eats the puppy formula and maintains a very weight at about a cup and a half a day(he`s super active). It was recommended by our vet and Sam`s foster mom from before we got him, and so far I`m really pleased with it. His coat is very healthy and he hasn`t had any digestive issues aside from when he ate the whole bag of my cat`s food, who also eats 4health. There are all kinds of different formulations, so it would be something to look in to if you want the quality but need to save money. c:
Aside from that, though, I don`t have any experience with the brands you`re looking at. I just thought I would throw it out there.
I used Premium Edge for years and my dogs loved it and did very well on it.. The only reason I no longer use it is that it is manufactured in a plant that also makes the cheaper Diamond food brands and their is some question as to whether or not they may add malanine(sp) in the cheaper food to raise the protein content and if so could some get in the Premium Edge.
I do use Canidea which is also produced by Diamond but in a different plant. You should be able to look up past discussions on the food also. Have you checked out Dog Food Analysis?
